Ashley Olynick
Psychotherapist, MACP, CCC

I am a trauma-informed therapist and work mainly from an attachment-based, and acceptance and commitment model. I use a client-centered, feminist approach and I am trained in stress/anxiety reduction and emotional regulation techniques. I also often use somatic experiencing and mindfulness in my practice. Occassionally I will use symbolic imagery tools, such as tarot cards, as a way to explore thoughts and emotions. I do not use them as a way to predict the future or outcomes - more as a way to help you develop further insight.

I am a queer, cis-gendered woman (she/her), and a parent to young kids. My background is Mennonite, though you wouldn't be able to tell from my last name. I enjoy working with people of all ages and life stages, especially those trying to discover their own self-identity.

I have found that I love helping other parents navigate and normalize the stressors of parenthood. I am comfortable working with individuals who have experienced post-partum depression and anxiety, as well as people experiencing a variety of transitions; whether that be changing relationship structures (including ethical non-monogamy/polyamory), religious deconstruction, sexual and gender identity changes, job loss, grief, among many others. I am also comfortable working with people with varying experiences of trauma including relational, physical, emotional, or sexual trauma.

If you'd like to see if I might be the right therapist for you, please don't hesitate to reach out. I offer a free 15 minute consult to discuss a potential therapeutic relationship.
